Till I Can Get My Satisfaction...

Thought Box...

"Have you ever traded something of great value,
for something of lesser value just to satisfy your NOW?"

I was recently confronted with this question  by someone of great respect. When the question came I didn't immediately understand until I read the story of a man who gave up something of tremendous worth for something that only offered temporary satisfaction.

Here is the scene: Jacob and Esau are brothers, they are twins to be exact. Esau was born first which means that he is given the inheritance of all that his father owns (birthright). Esau not only has the birthright, but he is also known for his great hunting skills and for being quite manly.
Then we have Jacob. He is the second born (meaning he has no right...to anything) and he likes to make soup.

Aaaaaand ACTION!

Jacob was boiling pottage (lentil stew) one day, when Esau came from the field {hunting} and was faint [with hunger]. And Esau said to Jacob, I beg of you, let me have some of that red lentil stew to eat, for I am faint and famished! That is why his name was called Edom [red]. Jacob answered, Then sell me your birthright (the rights of the first born). Esau said, See here, I am at the point of death; what good can this birthright do to me? Jacob said, Swear to me today [that you are selling it to me]; and he swore to [Jacob] and sold him his birthright. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils, and he ate and drank and rose up and went on his way. Thus Esau scorned {rejected} his birthright as beneath his notice.

Ok...so let me get this streight. This dude, Esau, gave up his inheritance, his legacy, his share of life for a bowl of soup?! I was amazed when I read this and then, I began to think...

How many of us have done the same?

How many of us have ignored our time with our children to watch a TV show that we "just can't miss"? How many of us have traded the real and true and satisfying love of our spouses  for the temporary high of pornographic images? How many of us have traded in our integrity for lies and deciet just to grow in the corporate ladder of success? How many of us have traded our dreams for the job that is giving us money NOW?

If there is something that I have learned and learned well, it's that
the things that cry out "NOW!" will always cry out "MORE!".

We become so entangled in our "NOW!" and "MORE!" that it becomes impossible to recuperate what we traded  in. What then with our future?

Make a choice today to choose your dreams over the temporary things! Remind yourself daily of what you are fighting for by writing down your dreams and placing in somewhere you will see it when you are tempted to make an unwise trade. We don't realize what we are giving up until we reach the end of the road. So I challenge you today to be aware of your "NOW!". Hold on to your birthright...because if and when you do I promise that you will inherit a great deal more than what you could ever think, ask, or imagine.

P.S. The story continues on throughout the book to reveal that Jacob's decendents gave birth to the most famous person that has ever existed on the planet...Jesus.

MUA! Quick MAKEUP!

Have you ever wondered what you needed to make a simple look happen? Need something you can take with you without dragging around half of Sephora with you? Smile...you came to the right place! Today I will show you what you need and how to make a simple, portable, and polished up look!

This is what we're working with today! All you need is:

1. Concealer
2. Translucent powder
3. Black liner with  a smudgie
4. Mascara
5. Bronzer or blush
6. Brow pencil
7. Neutral lip color
8. Powder brush

The "Look":

I was able to achieve this look with those simple tools! And you can too!

Step 1: Apply concealer under the eyes and in any other areas in which you have uneven skin. I applied it under my eyes, on my chin, and on my nose.

Step 2: Seal the concealer with your translucent powder using the powder brush.

Step 3: Apply black pencil liner to the top lash line and smudge out. Do the same on the bottom lash line.

Step 4: Apply two coats of mascara to top lashes!

Step 5:Apply your blush or bronzer to your cheeks with the powder brush. Why with the powder brush? To make it look more natural and less formal!

Step 6: Fill brows in with pencil.

Step 7: Apply lip color!

THE END!

Beauty Bags!

Who says that makeup bags can ONLY be used for makeup? I'm a bit of a rebel when it comes to these things and I invite you to come with! So what can you use them for?
I'd like to share my favorite makeup backs that I've used for various other things...from a night out to a bag for my jewelry! Take a look!

I got this back from a very dear friend! I needed something for my jewelry and TA-DA! It works really well when I travel or am in a hurry and need to put something on on-the-go! And of course...it's Kitty!

The hubby got me this one last year for Valentine's Day! I've used it to go out and store my most prized pencils and pens! I love how chic the satin is on the inside and I love the giant bow on the outside even more!

I bought this bag for Christmas/New Years 2010! I LOVED the way it looked with my outfit! The best part is that I was able to fit EVERYTHING and still have a cute clutch!

These two makeup bags are probably my favorite ones! I have allso used these when I go out on a summer day and don't really feel like carrying tons of stuff with me. I have used these for jewlery, makeup (of course), medicine pouch, loose change pouch, and a purse within an purse! HAHA! Yes...when I travel I use big bags so I place all of the things I need handy (passport, wallet, drivers lisence, ect.) in the makeup bag so I don't spend forever looking for what I need!

I hope this was able to shed some light on all of the potential little makeup bags can have!

God's Girl...

"God Girl"

Oh oh oh oh yeah
If my eyes light up with I say your name
And it's written all over my face
Tell me does it make me crazy
Well, maybe I got somethin' that I can't explain
And the beauty of it never changes
It's got me wrapped up
I'm all caught up
I can't help but say

I'm a God girl that's who I'll be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
No I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm your girl in a crazy world
I'm a God girl that's who I'll be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm your girl for the whole wide world to see
(See, See, See)

And when my ears start hearin' what people say
Hurry up find love cause times tickin' away
Well, I'm not bein' lazy I'm just waiting for
Still waiting for the right boy
Cause I only want to listen to your voice
So I'll be listenin'
Always listenin' to you everyday

Cause I'm a God girl that's who I'll be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
No I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm your girl in a crazy world
I'm a God girl that's who I'll be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm your girl for the whole wide world to see

Your name in lights
My biggest dream
My all in all
You're all I need
Hand in hand with the master of all creativity
And I won't stop until I know
All my facebook friends and foes
Look at me and only see one thing

I'm a God girl that's who I'll be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm your girl in a crazy world
God girl that's who I'll be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
No I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm yours

Oh I'm a love girl and I'll always be
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
I can't deny it, wouldn't even try
I'm your girl for the whole wide world to see

(Your name in lights)
(Can't change it)
(Can't fake it)
(Can't break it)

(You can't change, can't fake, can't break)
(I'm your girl)

Oh oh oh oh yeah
For the whole wide world,
The whole wide world to see
