March Mint Madness!!

Here at MUA! we are craaaaazzyyyyyy over the spring colors. One in particular has us all in a frenzy- a MINT frenzy that is! It is a spring MUST HAVE, your closet will fume in furry with out it. Mint is such a versatile and refeshing tone that looks beautiful in every skin tone! From dresses to to shoes to accessories you just can't go wrong this spring with mint. Take a look for yourself...

Mint comes in all shapes and sizes, textures and shades! There is just no excuse for you to be without something mint! I highly recommend the color, excellent for a work blouse and perfect for a wedding dress... we all know that season is upon us! I am currently in the hunt for the perfect little number and am craving a dress in mint!!! My blessed body has a mind of its own, too small on the top and fairly round on the bottom. If you are anything like me, you know how difficult it can be to shop for a curvy body! That is the beauty of the color mint though, styled in the right piece it can be very slimming!

I suggest pairing a mint piece such as a dress with very feminine jewelry, maybe pearls or gold. Also for a fun and bold move try pairing mint with a deep orange!!

Something like this:

Spiced Mint

Color blocking with the solid mint, the beautiful silk orange button up, and the yellow platforms is playfully broken by the patterened leather satchel! The shirt can be either tucked in or worn with a thin belt at the  hip. Experiment with different combinations of mint pieces, comment and let us know how it went!! Let MINT MADNESS freshen up your spring spirits!

Spring Bling

The sun is up, the birds are out and the flowers are blossoming. In the air all we feel is the warm breeze of spring and summer's eve. I don't know about you but as soon as march rolls around I'm manicured, in my favorite sundress, with perfect wedges on my feet! I love all the four seasons, being that I live in florida I see sparce hints of each, but spring is by far the most perfect season of all. I adore the colors and patterns that come to life, not only in nature but in our wardrobes! This March ladies, I want to introduce you to a fool-proof way to spring back into the swing of the season....

No... not the spring break week of madness and half naked women. I literally mean, spring bling, spring inspired statement jewelry!

Fiest your eyes on these beauties!!

I go weak in the knees... literally... at the sight of these gorgeous gems! The beautiful combination of neons, mints and blues, and rhinestones just catapults any outfit into a transcendental bliss of romance! When piecing together your spring closet, let's face it we all love spring shopping, look for signature jewelry pieces to add to your collection.

This season neon is in, along with beautiful metal blends and bold eye catching texture. Chunky and exotic chandelier or studs are perfect for softer dress necklines, short haircuts, or updo's. A bold statement necklace, or even layering necklaces, can dramatically change a plain t-shirt or dress into a highlight. Cuffs are really in this spring, especially with precious stones and metals! These are perfect for work, they don't compromise your dress code or your stylistic prowl.

These statement necklaces can be found at Nastygal.com

These beautiful chandeliers are under $10 at forever21.com

These gorgeous cuffs and bangles are from J.Crew...

I adore the affordable favorite below:

Maybe a bold yellow cuff from forever21.com is more your spring breeze?

So ladies pull out the old vintage jewelry from your mother's closet, pull out the rocks and glam, its time to get the SPRINGBLING in full effect! Mix it up with a few items, a couple cuffs, bangles, and a watch on the same wrist. Drape a couple necklaces around your neck, a few cocktail rings. Jewelry has never gone out of style, and diamonds ARE a girls best friend = )

Out of The Box

We represent what beauty is all about in many colors, forms, languages and sizes. Beauty is a title that has been given to us as women from the beginning. When you think about something beautiful, most of the time you picture a beautiful landscape or...a woman!
Lately I've been thinking about beauty and boy, can we be insecure! And yes, I said WE. I’m including myself in this one. When I think of being insecure I picture a bank safety box because when we are insecure we put ourself inside of that box {IN- SECURE } thinking that we will feel better, safer and more secure there. The truth is we can really miss out on a lot in being there. There is so much more of ourselves that we haven’t discovered yet, so much more beauty to give this world.
This is your time, this is your season
to think and live outside of the box!!!!
I have chosen a few common looks, which I’m not saying that I don’t like these looks I just saying that they’re quite common, often seen, and I want to give you another options where you can take that look outside of the box!

Big and beautiful curls!
Curls are timeless but why not take it to the next level by simply adding volume!

Different style, same blonde color...
Highlights are the easiest way to be blonde without bleaching your entire hair. But this time try just highlighting your ends like Khloe Kardashian. I love this look it’s really easy to maintain and its really fashion forward.

Bang, bang!
You're used to having some hair in your face why not make your bangs thick and stylish? And get a professional to do it...PLEASE STOP CUTTING YOUR OWN BANGS!!!  For some crazy reason, we always end up MUCH higher than what we anticipated! Ha!

Adding to the pony...
If you are on the run, the pony tail is the best option! Next time take a few more seconds and add a prop, like a headband with some volume or a beautiful flower.

Have fun!!!!!
Let your life be full beauty
With Love

The Fair Tade

These days going "green"seems to be the new fad as we have all rushed out to buy special light bulbs, apliances, and even gone organic. But what about going green through Fair Trade? Many of us have yet to discover the beauty of Fair Trade and what it is. Fair Trade refers to exactly what the name is. It provides for people living in underdeveloped countries to sell to developed countries their goods such as cotton, coffee, gold, flowers, honey, ect. at reasonable prices. Why is this important? Unfortunately, most companies offer these under developed countries very little for their goods forcing them to put children and women to hard labor for very little as well. When we purchase fair trade, we are helping end child slavery and poverty. Fair Trade opens a door for people to LIVE. To work and get paid what they deserve.
So how does this relate to makeup? There are ingredients in makeup that can be bought through Fair Trade but instead are being bought the old fashioned way...unreasonably. While cosmetics brands become rich off of simply selling their name, the people raising their crops are dieing of hunger and WE can end this.

Meet...The Body Shop...one of the few makeup and skin care lines dedicated to Fair Trade!

Till I Can Get My Satisfaction...

Thought Box...

"Have you ever traded something of great value,
for something of lesser value just to satisfy your NOW?"

I was recently confronted with this question  by someone of great respect. When the question came I didn't immediately understand until I read the story of a man who gave up something of tremendous worth for something that only offered temporary satisfaction.

Here is the scene: Jacob and Esau are brothers, they are twins to be exact. Esau was born first which means that he is given the inheritance of all that his father owns (birthright). Esau not only has the birthright, but he is also known for his great hunting skills and for being quite manly.
Then we have Jacob. He is the second born (meaning he has no right...to anything) and he likes to make soup.

Aaaaaand ACTION!

Jacob was boiling pottage (lentil stew) one day, when Esau came from the field {hunting} and was faint [with hunger]. And Esau said to Jacob, I beg of you, let me have some of that red lentil stew to eat, for I am faint and famished! That is why his name was called Edom [red]. Jacob answered, Then sell me your birthright (the rights of the first born). Esau said, See here, I am at the point of death; what good can this birthright do to me? Jacob said, Swear to me today [that you are selling it to me]; and he swore to [Jacob] and sold him his birthright. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils, and he ate and drank and rose up and went on his way. Thus Esau scorned {rejected} his birthright as beneath his notice.

Ok...so let me get this streight. This dude, Esau, gave up his inheritance, his legacy, his share of life for a bowl of soup?! I was amazed when I read this and then, I began to think...

How many of us have done the same?

How many of us have ignored our time with our children to watch a TV show that we "just can't miss"? How many of us have traded the real and true and satisfying love of our spouses  for the temporary high of pornographic images? How many of us have traded in our integrity for lies and deciet just to grow in the corporate ladder of success? How many of us have traded our dreams for the job that is giving us money NOW?

If there is something that I have learned and learned well, it's that
the things that cry out "NOW!" will always cry out "MORE!".

We become so entangled in our "NOW!" and "MORE!" that it becomes impossible to recuperate what we traded  in. What then with our future?

Make a choice today to choose your dreams over the temporary things! Remind yourself daily of what you are fighting for by writing down your dreams and placing in somewhere you will see it when you are tempted to make an unwise trade. We don't realize what we are giving up until we reach the end of the road. So I challenge you today to be aware of your "NOW!". Hold on to your birthright...because if and when you do I promise that you will inherit a great deal more than what you could ever think, ask, or imagine.

P.S. The story continues on throughout the book to reveal that Jacob's decendents gave birth to the most famous person that has ever existed on the planet...Jesus.
